The amount of coronavirus deaths in France is rising for the primary time since the top of lockdown, the general public health agency said Friday, warning that each one outbreak indicators are worsening.
The country recorded 13,215 new cases in 24 hours, said the agency — a replacement daily record since a widespread testing campaign was launched — and 123 deaths.
A total of 403 people were admitted to hospital in 24 hours for coronavirus complications, bringing the entire for the week to three ,626, of which 571 were in medical care .
The agency Sante Publique France said that although the recent rise in infections has mainly affected young people, infections among people over 75 who are more vulnerable to the virus are now also increasing rapidly.

“For the primary time since the lifting of the (March-May) lockdown, we are seeing a rise in Covid-19 deaths,' the group said during a weekly briefing.
“The intensification of the spread of the virus among the oldest age bracket raises fears of the continuation of hospitalisations and deaths within the weeks to return ,” it warned.
– ‘Significant worsening’ –
