Doctors on duty
Nigerian doctors have suspended their seven-day strike action.
The Joint Health Sector Unions, the umbrella body for employees, called on representatives to resume their duties on Monday (today).
Physicians who left work on September 14 are agitating for enhanced health and payment of special induction and hazard allowances for COVID-19; payment of all withheld salaries; and, among other items, modification of the Consolidated Medical Salary Structure since 2014.

In a statement, JOHESU National Chairman, Biobelomoye Josiah, on Sunday said, “Nigerians should bear us witness that JOHESU High patriotism has been demonstrated by demanding that Nigeria's public health system be maintained and properly supported for efficient , effective and accessible delivery of healthcare services.
“I hereby announce that the seven-day alert strike is suspended in view of the above and in accordance with the resolution of the enlarged NEC meeting held physically and digitally on Sunday, September 20, 2020.
