We have finally caged lions from Edo politics ― Obaseki

Edo Governor Godwin Obaseki said that his re-election for an additional four years in the just concluded governorship election effectively sent the lions and tigers into the zoo to be permanently caged from Edo politics. 

Obaseki announced this in Benin on Monday while addressing a crowd of PDP supporters at the favored Kings Square shortly after a victory match around the Metropole of Beninis.

Among others, the Governor was in the presence of Deputy Gov. Philip Shaibu, President of the Edo PDP Campaign Council, Dan Orbih, House of Rep. Member, Ogbeide Ihama. 

According to him, Saturday's governorship election message means that I should go and work for the people of Edo. it's clear, the Edo people have spoken loud and clear.

“You have helped me caged the lions and tigers within the State, you'll never see them again in Edo because they're beat the zoo now where they belong.

“Today, I promise you that we'll work for Edo people because nobody will hinder us from delivering the dividend of democracy to Edo people.

“My Deputy, Philip Shaibu, and that i will return to the office and work for Edo people. i would like to thank everyone residing within the state; you spoke and that we have heard you and prepared to ever work for you.

“The next four years within the state are going to be the one that each one citizens will live to recollect as we'll consolidate on our developmental achievements within the State. many thanks all,” he said.

Earlier, Mr. Dan Orbih, Chairman of the Edo PDP Campaign Council, said the victory had shown that the people of Edo had rejected godfatherism, money bag politics, and given the State's mandate for growth. 

You have begun a new dawn in Edo Politics, Nigeria's democracy, with your support and votes, and by extension, the State will never again be the equivalent of Obaseki's re-election in the State.

“"The re-election of Obaseki has shown that Edo citizens are wiser, and hence the state is on the road of growth because in Edo Politics, citizens have spoken clearly and have finally silenced godfatherism," he said. (nan) (NAN).
